I know, I know, the words “ Jaguar-sourced V8 " should tell me everything I need to know, but they’re impressive on paper and they’ve very much hit the bottom of the depreciation curve. I kinda want one as my next car when if the BMW eventually shits the bed.

I’ve wanted one ever since they came out... V8 and I think they come with el manuel
I don’t know anything about them being unreliable... or reliable for that matter. I just want one.

Only the V6 had a manual and only like 2300 of those were made.

I believe I was once told to buy the newest one I could find, or the last year model. Early cars are a huge NO.

Well they have a shit ton of ball joints to go bad, kind of like an A6. Also I’ve seen them in the shop for bad ignition coils, those are super easy labor wise so not really a deal breaker. As far as what you get for your money, price wise these days it’s a really nice car

You can get a 250-280 hp V8 with everything working for $4-5k. That’s an NP any day of the week.

I was looking at purchasing a ‘06 v8 for myself and then decided to do a little more in depth research including looking them up on prodemand. The number 1 replaced part: coils. more than brakes!! They have some other issues as well... A Lexus GS400/430 is a much better option generally.
That being said.. I still like them. There is something wrong with me haha

I had an 05 V6 model, the thing was super comfortable and ate up the highway miles with ease all the while making 30+ mpg. On the bad side was the dual climate control valve which controls the dual zone ac, it breaks forcing one side of the car to be stuck with heat blasting and for some reason makes it throw up warnings for the parking brake, constant vaccuum leaks, and weak modules of some form in the transmissions that randomly put the car into limp mode while accelerating. The rear axel in mine also had to be replaced at 40k miles because the gears decided they wanted to be round instead of having teeth. All that being said I’d buy another one in a heartbeat. I love that car sadly a Toyota forced it to meet an unfortunate demise...
